Resveratrol Side Effects - Potential Pitfalls
Amid all the hype surrounding the new supplements based on resveratrol, a naturally occurring substance that is part of the composition of grape skin, it is hard to distinguish fact from fiction at times. The media has latched onto the benefits of resveratrol supplements with a passion, with glowing reviews from talk shows, magazines, and other media outlets. The internet is another story, with so many websites trying to sell the supplements that it’s almost impossible to wade through all of the facts and figures that are thrown out there. Among all this, many consumers are probably wondering if there are resveratrol side effects.
The answer is, maybe. The problem with determining the truth about resveratrol side effects is that there is so much information out there that it’s hard to find where the actual clinical trials are to back it up. They are indeed out there, and seem to weigh more heavily in the positive camp at the moment, which is a good sign for potential users of resveratrol supplements. The benefits are numerous and can include a reduction in wrinkles, weight loss, and the ability to ward off deadly diseases such as cancer and heart disease. This is all extremely promising.
On the other hand, there have been a few reports from users about resveratrol side effects. The following side effects have been mentioned often enough that they are worth thinking about. These include nausea, dizziness, aching in the joints, numbness or tingling in the extremities, and occasionally a loss of appetite. It is unclear which of these side effects are purely from the resveratrol however; and which are from the other fillers that are put in the supplements. With a lack of official clinical studies behind the pitfalls of this substance, conclusive results are difficult to draw.
This means that consumers can use the resveratrol supplements, but should do so with caution at the moment while research is still being undertaken. There may be definitive resveratrol side effects that we don’t know about yet, including any long-term effects. For the most part at the moment, the benefits seem to outweigh these risks but at this point it’s still difficult to tell. Before beginning any program of dietary supplements, it’s recommended to consult with your health care provider for advice. Hopefully, in the next year or two more of the mysteries surrounding this promising new product on the market will be solved, and we can use it in a more care-free manner, enjoying an improved and longer life.

Great article, incorporating resveratrol into my diet has allowed me to feel happy and healthier. However a diet is not enough. Exercise is also very important. This is why I have also started swimming on a regular basis.

I recommend resveratrol to all my friends and family members, not everyone knows about how many unhealthy chemicals they consume through junk food. No wonder we have so many health issues nowadays.
