Resveratrol Side Effects – Benefits of Resveratrol

Although there have been some hazy reports of resveratrol side effects, the benefits seem to outweigh them to quite a heavy degree. This is because all of the clinical research that has been undertaken thus far seems to focus more on the myriad benefits of this small but powerful antioxidant. These range from the purely aesthetic to the more serious benefits of helping to prevent heart disease and cancer. This substance is found in dark skinned berries, grapes, and red wine, and can be also found now in supplemental form.

The benefits of resveratrol can include weight loss, an increase in metabolism, an affinity for building new muscle growth, and a reduction in wrinkles. In addition, these supplements have been linked to being able to aid in the prevention of cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes, among other serious illnesses. With such benefits, one has to wonder where the catch is, and ask about the resveratrol side effects that must be part of the package. There haven’t been too many reported, in actuality, which comes as a surprise.

The only resveratrol side effects that have been discovered so far as a result seem to be purely anecdotal, rather than anything that has been reported to be across the board for all users. Most of these side effects occur when the supplement is taken at doses that are too high, or that is mixed with other weight loss ingredients. For instance, these can lead to a jittery feeling as well as a loss of appetite, typical of weight loss pills. The resveratrol in its pure form does not cause this type of side effect. Other purely anecdotal reports include tendinitis, a numbness or achiness in the limbs, or even nausea at high doses.

In weighing all the pros and cons before deciding to take resveratrol supplements, it’s important to keep those benefits in mind as well as the fact that the resveratrol side effects have a lack of clinical research behind them. Research is still in the process of being conducted, which is partially what makes this such an exciting new product on the market, and is why everyone is talking about it. With resveratrol, as with all dietary supplements, it is of course recommended that a consumer speak to his or her doctor before beginning use. A medical professional will be the most up to date with current medical research, as well as possessing knowledge of your personal history.
