Resveratrol Benefits – Found in Natural Forms

While there are a number of resveratrol supplements that are available on the market today for a fair price, it seems that many of the same resveratrol benefits can be found by using it in its natural form. This is within the tart skin of grapes, huckleberries, and other berries of this particular variety. It can also be found in red wine, which helps back up the old medical adage recommending a glass of wine per day for optimal health. The benefits themselves are far-reaching and include anti-aging properties as well as the ability to fight cancer and even Alzheimer’s. Could the fountain of youth really be found in the humble grape?

The resveratrol benefits seem to provide a greater understanding of why the Mediterranean diet has long yielded health-improving results. A diet rich in olive oil, red wine, fish, and berries seems to allow people to live longer and in better health than many other diets. Perhaps the secret has been sitting within the lush grapes of the Greek isles this whole time. If this is the case, scientists and other researchers have certainly been hoping to figure out that this is a proven fact. Research in this area is at a fever pitch at the moment to provide conclusive results.

The problem so far with proving that resveratrol benefits are just as great in food’s natural forms as well as in the supplemental extracts has been that the field is a fairly new one. Long term results are still not yet known. It’s certain that as far as fighting cancer goes, because resveratrol is an antioxidant, it’s a good idea to consume fruits that are rich in this substance, as well as yes, drinking red wine in moderation. This has been shown to fight heart disease as well, with no need for extra supplements.

However, in terms of the anti-aging resveratrol benefits, they have only thus far been proven in mice and not in humans. It seems that a larger amount of resveratrol may be necessary to achieve results such as weight loss and anti-wrinkle capabilities. While this too is still being studied, for the moment supplements may be necessary to get these results, rather than simply choosing a bunch of grapes as your snack of choice. Before taking any sort of dietary supplements, it’s recommended to speak to a health care professional for the most up to date advice in this matter.

You are what you eat. A few years ago, I was eating overly processed foods and I felt so unmotivated and unhealthy. Now, after experiencing resveratrol, I can finally see what all the health fanatics were talking about. Great website.

Great article, incorporating resveratrol into my diet has allowed me to feel happy and healthier. However a diet is not enough. Exercise is also very important. This is why I have also started swimming on a regular basis.
