Resveratrol Benefits – Controlling Hormonal Levels

There are a number of resveratrol benefits that have recently been discovered. This natural compound, found in a number of places naturally, has been hyped to great heights by the media. Most noticeably, naturally found in grape skin and red wine, resveratrol has been touted as a veritable fountain of youth. It has been linked to a reduction in wrinkles, weight loss, an improvement in energy levels, and more. Though research is still being conducted, it seems that one reason for these anti-aging benefits is its impact on hormone levels within the body.

Resveratrol benefits including weight loss may greatly be due in part to its impact on regulating hormones within the body, which means that it lowers estrogen levels and causes the body to level these out with a corresponding increase in testosterone. While this may not sound appealing at first glance, a decrease in estrogen means a decrease in overall fat levels. Estrogen is the hormone that prepares the body for pregnancy and helps to form other feminine attributes such as breast growth. It also unfortunately can cause the body to store fat deposits, when it is flowing in excess. The resveratrol that lowers this thus also lowers the fat content inside the body.

As fat production caused by estrogen decreases as one of the resveratrol benefits, the testosterone increases. This can cause the body to increase its rate of muscle growth. These fluctuating hormone levels lead to an overall increase in energy levels. Correspondingly this causes a leaner physique with a higher metabolism that is able to gain muscle rapidly and keep fat at bay. There are very few other substances out there that have this kind of impact on hormonal levels, which is why resveratrol is such an exciting discovery within the world of weight loss.

The other resveratrol benefits such as its ability to fight cancer may not be due to its ability to control hormones, but for those anti-aging and weight loss aspects, this is certainly closely tied. The truth is that this is a fascinating field of research at the moment, and one which is consistently yielding new surprising results. That’s why there has been such a wide media fascination with the subject; and one that is not bound to go away any time soon. As with any dietary supplement, it’s recommended to speak to your doctor first if you wish to try these supplements, as they may lead to other side effects that have not yet been discovered.

My previous habit of eating lots of junk food was making me feel very unmotivated and tired all the time. A few months ago I decided to consider resveratrol and I am so thankful for it.
